BMA unites 20 public authorities around Brașov, driving sustainable metropolitan and regional development since 2006. It fosters cooperation among member communities, citizens, and stakeholders, facilitating joint implementation of sustainable local development initiatives. BMA's activities range from local community sustainability programs to strategic planning or investment projects, including sustainable urban mobility. With extensive experience in research and territorial cooperation projects, BMA actively engages in regional, national, and European networks and founded Metropolitan Transport Authority (AMDDTPBv).

  • CONFLICTEDSTREETS (Navigating conflicts over streets and urban space in the transition to the 15mC) | 2024 - 2026 | Builds knowledge about what generates conflicts in plans for the 15mC and develops guidance on how to deal with such conflicts. A key goal of the project is to learn and build knowledge on planning practices and processes acknowledging the political and contested nature of urban development and change processes associated with road space reallocation. Brasov is one of the pilot cities.
  • SUMP (Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan) | 2024 - 2026 | Coordination of the SUMP and transport model development by an international consortium of consultants with the support of the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Administration and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
